Contest Instructions:
Your mission should you choose to accept it is to think of a title for Denise’s upcoming 5th book.
1. Read the following synopsis:
Let me sum up my WIP by saying this is techno-romantic thriller based around cyber crimes and how people steal or use someone else’s identity.
My current work-in-progress, AKA “Pink Undie Story” for lack of a better title at the moment, starts out where a FBI cyber crime investigator turned small town police detective, Garrett, has to dress in drag to try and catch a perpetrator who likes to beat up local hookers. Unfortunately, Garrett gets this duty because he is the newest man on the force, lost a bet over a football game between the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings (his home team), and there are no females on the small town police force.
After a disastrous night of not catching the perpetrator and in the middle of changing back into his clothes to go off duty is called out on an emergency. This emergency leaves him less than dressed as he should be. Garrett is still wearing the pink underwear he had on for his stroll down Hooker Lane. He just doesn’t know it.
Our heroine, Jane, is owner of an organic cosmetics business and all she wants is to fall in love. As a last ditch effort, she tries the online dating services. Jane’s theory is that how could a computer be wrong.
Hero and heroine meet the night Garrett dressed in drag. It’s when Jane goes back to Garrett’s place and he gets naked that she realizes her desperation for love is a huge mistake. The man she just met, and decided to take her friend’s advice and go for it instead of listening to a computer stands before her wearing pink undies. Ladies’ pink panties.
Jane bolts for the door and halts when Garrett yells, “Stop, police.” She turns back and one look at the man wearing women’s underwear tells her he is not a cop, he is a psycho.
What Jane does not realize is that the real psycho is still out there and has her in his sights or on his computer list. Using technology skills the psycho will be able to pinpoint Jane’s location, steal her network access, her cosmetics’ business secrets, and steal from her bank accounts, all while it seems that Jane is the responsible party because the psycho stole her identity.
Of course, former FBI cyber crime fighter turned small town cop, Garrett will get involved, but will he believe Jane is innocent or guilty? Will he catch the bad guy or will Jane have to learn to defend her computer systems, her business, herself against an unknown and fight back?
The underlying theme of the story is that all the main characters are at some point or another not who they appear to be. They are masquerading themselves for one reason or another.

Very intriguing synopsis–can’t wait to read this one. I think writing a synopsis is harder than writing the book, itself. This one “hooked” me from the start.
My suggested title: BRIEF ENCOUNTERS
Okay…I have to admit, it was difficult to think of an “undies” title for what should be a very exciting book…but I gave it a try. Like I said, the protagonist attracts the reader’s attention as does the setting and initial problem. Cyber crime is distressing, to say the least, and something no one even considered 25 years ago. Can’t wait to read this one!

Theresa –
May I just say that totally had me cracking up! I had not even considered that.
Wonderful!

All your book thus far have three words in the title. How about a play on the phrase ‘little white lies.’ Considering the color of the panties…how about “Little Pink Lies”

Oops….It Happens in Threes obviously has four words, but mentions threes….my error.

Lisa – You know me, I love pink! I had not even thought of the word “lies.”
Sheesh! I need to expand my mind more.

Hi Denise:) I saw we all had a deadline to toss you something, so here goes:)
Hidden Truths
I am not known for coming up with splendid titles:) but at least when you break from the meeting you’ll have several to add to your list.
I loved the story line by the way…excellent!

How about:
Undercover Briefs
or
Pink Secrets
or
Cyber Lies
I could probably toss some more out – you know how much I like to play with words, lol.

Loretta – Thanks for meeting the deadline ;-) Hidden Truths is a cool title. Again, not one I had come close to thinking about.
April – Thanks for throwing out suggestions. Hehe! I have this visual of Undercover Briefs, but kinda like Cyber Lies.
You all are really making me think outside my pink computer box!
