Have you ever contemplated being a freelancer? Wondered if you missed the wagon? Fear not, for the wagon is still here and it’s parked outside a goldmine. You are not too late and there is still money to be made in freelancer jobs.
Perhaps your image of freelancing is slaving away in a cubicle 6 days per week writing columns and feature articles for magazines or newspapers with tight deadlines. Think a bit further afield.
Welcome to the world of online freelancing. Freelance writer jobs are everywhere — you just have to know where to find them.
Let me start by saying that as a novice, you cannot expect to earn a solid salary income like in the offline world. You will need to take work where you can get it and compete for low paying jobs with hundreds of other freelancers.
The competition for online writing jobs can be as cutthroat as in the offline arena, perhaps worse. With the internet available around the world, you will come up against impoverished writers who will happily work for the equivalent of a minimum wage in a developed country.
Now, that might sound depressing. In the beginning, you will have to work your bum off to put together a portfolio with glowing testimonials. You might think it’s not worth your time and effort, especially if you already have a full-time job and only want to supplement your current income.
Stick with it. The more proof you garner as testament to the quality and efficiency of your writing, the higher the price you can charge. Remember, if your english (or chosen language for freelance writing) is fluent and sound, you will quickly overtake a good portion of your peers.
I have never freelanced myself but I have some experience in hiring freelance writers. The following is a list of the best places for you to find projects to work on. You can easily use Google to find more avenues.

My biggest tip is to start by bidding low. Work hard, aim to deliver more than is expected of you, and grow your reputation quickly. Throw up a simple website with live examples of your writing and plenty of testimonials.
Before long you will be able to build a regular client base and attract new ones every day if you wish. And you can start raising your prices. People looking for quality work will pay handsomely for proven, trusted freelancers. At this point you are in control and can enjoy the flexibility of working when and how much want, and for what pay.

Cool advise. I have not tried to freelance either.
